Tour Pricing

Tour prices are calculated on a minimum number of adults required to operate a tour.

Tours are based on a minimum of 4 passengers –

Tours may operate with a minimum of 2 adult passengers when a small group supplement is payable locally should passenger numbers be less than 4 adults on these tours.

Child prices apply to ages 5 to 11

Unless stated otherwise prices exclude lunch, accommodation and any optional entry fees to attractions - though passengers may receive a discount to such attractions.

Making a reservation

To make a reservation please complete the online enquiry form in as much detail as possible at the time. We will then reply to your enquiry within 24 hrs to confirm tour availability.

Paying for your tour

Payment for scheduled tours must be paid for in full at the time of booking unless by prior agreement. We regret that drivers cannot process credit card payments on the day of the tour.

Once availability is confirmed you will be sent an invoice by email that can be paid securely online via Paypal which accepts the following cards:

Visa / Delta / Electron
MasterCard / Eurocard
PayPal Top Up Card
Maestro
Solo
American Express

Debit cards (also known as bank cards) are accepted if they have a Visa or MasterCard logo, or alternatively payments can be taken over the phone.

Once payment is received you will receive your tour voucher detailing place and time of pick up for your tour.

Tour availability

All tours are subject to availability on the day and minimum number of passengers. Tours may be available on different days to those advertised – please enquire.

Cancellations and refunds for scheduled tours

When a passenger wishes to make a cancellation of a scheduled tour the following charges apply:

Within 24 hours of the tour departure, no refund will be given.

Within 5 days before the tour date 50% of the tour price will be payable unless the seat can be re-sold in which case the passenger will receive a full refund.

For all cancellations more than 5 days before the tour date there is a £15 administration charge.

We reserve the right to cancel trips under exceptional circumstances. In such cases passengers will be promptly informed and offered a transfer to a substitute tour and if the tour is a lower cash value passengers will receive a cash adjustment refund; or a total refund of all prepaid monies.

Payment for private tours

To confirm a private tour a deposit of 50% of the total tour price is payable on booking with the balance due six weeks prior to the tour date. Where bookings are made less than 6 weeks in advance payment must be made in full.

Cancellations and refunds for private tours

The 50% deposit is forfeited on any cancellation, which must be notified to the company in writing by e-mail or post, and sent via recorded delivery.

Where the balance owing on a tour is not paid prior to the six week deadline then the company reserves the right to cancel the tour and forfeit the deposit.

Where notification of cancellation has been received less than six weeks prior to commencement of a tour the following schedule of refunds will apply:

41-28 days before start - 75% of balance
27-14 days before start - 50% of balance
13-0 days before start - NIL

General Guidelines for all tours

All tour timings are approximate and may be affected by weather or traffic conditions. We also reserve the right to change the tour itinerary at any time due to weather, acts of God and events out of our control.

Due to the nature of our tours we discourage carrying children under the age of 5 years except on private tours. Child booster seats and infant seat may be available but must be booked in advance. Where we are not notified of the need for such a seat we reserve the right to refuse carriage and no refund will be given.

It is the passengers responsibility to be at the pick up point at the stated time and whilst we will wait as long as possible there will be no refund for missed tours. If you know you will be delayed we strongly advise contacting us at the earliest opportunity and we will try to accommodate this change though there is no guarantee that this will be possible.

Due to the size & type of vehicles we use, luggage is restricted to one small/medium size bag; please arrange to leave your suitcases at your hotel for pick up at the end of the tour.

Smoking, drinking or eating is not permitted on any of our vehicles as a courtesy to fellow passengers.

Lake District Tours recommends all passengers take out suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance.

Driver tips are not included in the tour price but if deserved, greatly appreciated.
