We
depart up the eastern shore of Windermere, enjoying
the views as we travel closer to the market town of
Ambleside. Passing the site of the Roman Fort of Galava
at Waterhead, we journey on one of the most beautiful
stretches of road in England alongside Rydal Water
and Grasmere lake. There is a photo stop at Dove
Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth
and a chance to try the famous Grasmere Gingerbread.

A
spectacular road high above Grasmere lake leads over
Red Bank to Chapel Stile and the Langdales. These
famous and prominent peaks could be seen from Windermere
and now we can stop for a close view of these craggy mountains.
11.30
We
rejoin the main road and soon reach Yew Tree Farm,
formerly owned by Beatrix Potter and the movie location
for Miss Potter. After a photostop at Coniston Water
we soon reach Hawkshead where you can wander through
this pretty medieval village with its narrow cobbled
alleys, tiny squares and old church.

On
to Hill Top Farm, bought by Beatrix Potter 100 years
ago and where she wrote many famous stories including
The Tales of Peter Rabbit. The farmhouse, used as

in its original state. For more information visit

Dear
Andy san, Tony san
Thank you very much for the lovely tours. My father has gone
back to Japan with beautiful memories of Lake District now.
We had a lovely time with you, and the boys still talk about
the trip. Since we come back the boys got more into Peter
Rabbit and we enjoy reading the books . I personally watched
the film Miss Potter today remembering all the beautiful views
we saw in Lake District. Thank you again. We will certainly
come back to Lake District again and would love to join your
other tours. Till then good bye.
