09:00

pick up from your guesthouse. We travel up the eastern shore of Lake Windermere towards Ambleside, enjoying superb views of mountain and lake

09:30

Passing through narrow lanes we reach Tarn Hows for a short hike to admire one of England's most beautiful views before passing beneath the mountain of Coniston Old Man to Coniston Water.

10:30

We stop near Yew Tree Farm, a Farm House built in the 17th Century that today is one of the most photographed farms in the Lake District. The Farm was purchased in 1930 by Beatrix Potter who in hard economic times encouraged her tenants to welcome visitors. This farm was used as the setting for Hill Top in the Miss Potter movie. A short hike above the road provides us with a wonderful view of the farm and surrounding mountains.

11:15

We continue to Grasmere village where you may sample the famous Grasmere gingerbread, visit Dove Cottage the home of William Wordsworth and the 750 year old church of St Oswald.

12:00 Depart Grasmere to climb high above the eastern shore of Derwentwater, one of Miss Potter's favourite places and the setting for The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, to see two of the most photographed sights in Lakeland - Ashness Bridge and SurpriseView.

13:00 Arrive in the market town of Keswick for lunch and time for shopping.

14:00 Depart Keswick for Castlerigg. 5000 years ago Neolithic tribes constructed a stone circle at Castlerigg, our tour enters the circle so that you may photograph this amazing location. We drive back through the beautiful St John's in the Vale with time for more photo opportunities.
