Lake District Tours
Our tours have been designed to make the most of your visit to the Lake District and give you the chance to visit the most beautiful parts of the National Park.
Tours are planned to arrive at popular spots during quiet times of the day – we believe it is worth leaving that little bit earlier before other tour companies depart and everyone leaves their hotel for the day!
It is how you experience the Lake District that makes for a memorable tour.
Lake District Tours are informal, relaxed and informative with plenty of photo stops – many of these are planned but many more unplanned to take advantage of spectacular weather conditions, local events or wildlife sightings.
Use these pages to help decide which tour is for you. If you have a bit more time you can join a number of tours together - they all offer unique Lake District experiences, so there'll be no overlap.
Whichever tour you choose the Lake District Tours service includes:
- Pre booked reservations at Hill Top (the home of Beatrix Potter) so no wasting time in line
- Discounted entry to Dove Cottage (the home of William Wordsworth)
- Discounted cruise tickets from Ambleside to Bowness
- Discounted tickets to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness
- Discounted accommodation on our Tour n Stay value package
- Complimentary pick up and drop off in the Windermere, Ambleside, Bowness area
- The best scenery in England!
Joining a Tour
Lake District Tours provide complimentary pick up from hotels/guesthouses in the Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside area and from Windermere station so you can join a tour on the same day as your arrival in the Lake District. We also provide a transfer service from Oxenholme -The Lake District for a small additional charge (this is included in our day trip from London).
Getting to the Lake District
Virgin Trains operate a direct service from London Euston to a station called Oxenholme – The Lake District reached in just under 3 hours. Please note Oxenholme is a small rural station with no cafe or food facilities and it is not in the Lake District National Park. To continue to Windermere by train involves changing trains at Oxenholme and taking a Transpennine service.
Important if the Virgin Train is delayed you may miss this connection and miss your tour. If you are short on time or on a private tour the same day as your arrival we strongly recommend paying for our transfer service from Oxenholme which takes approx 30 mins.
If you are flying to Manchester there is a direct Transpennine service from Manchester airport to Windermere station.
