The Lake District of Beatrix Potter tour is ideal for those who wish to combine a short tour through the south lakes with some of the most popular attractions. The first part of the morning focuses on the life of Beatrix Potter and her importance to the Lake District not only as a childrens storyteller but also as a farmer and champion of the local herdwick sheep. You will visit Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter with its beautiful garden and original furnishings.
Hawkshead is a pretty village with narrow lanes, ancient church, Beatrix Potter gallery and the famous grammar school attended by the Lake District poet William Wordsworth. We drive over Hawkshead Hill before dropping to Coniston Water where Donald Campbell set the water speed record. We drive slowly along the scenic eastern shore of Coniston Water by Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin, from where the views are simply amazing! The views continue as we pass Wild Cat Island of Arthur Ransomes' Swallows and Amazons to reach the train station at Haverthwaite. The Furness line was built in the 1860s and is an introduction to the industrial heritage of the area. You say goodbye to your guide at this point and board the 1300 departure that connects with the scenic cruise up Lake Windermere to Bowness arriving 1415 to end a most varied day out.

We have just arrived at Japan from UK today. In Lake District we were very happy to join Lake District Tour. Picking up services between hotel and rail station helped us. Thank you very much for everything.
The beautiful countryside around Hill Top really moved us and we will never forget our memory of walking through foot path and cruising on the beautiful lake.
