Tour Description
The emphasis on this tour is to experience the magnificent Lake District landscape at first hand through short walks to hidden places not seen from a tour bus. Enjoy spectacular waterfalls, ancient woodland and stunning mountain scenery throughout.
The tour centres on an area known as the Langdales: a magnificent landscape created by volcanoes and later sculpted by the power of glacial ice. With a rich mining and farming history it is a fascinating area to explore. A twenty minute walk alongside a high mountain lake affords spectacular views and in the summer the ground is carpeted with wild flowers.
This tour packs a lot of variety into a short time and is an ideal introduction to the Lake District.

All walks are optional though highly recommended, Footpaths are well maintained, on the level and passable in training shoes.
