An exciting yet leisurely six hour tour exploring every aspect of the Lake District including nine beautiful lakes.
In the morning we explore the southern Lake District and scenic locations such as Tarn Hows, Coniston Water and the 17th century farmhouse at Yew Tree Farm.
Narrow mountain roads provide stunning views as we descend steeply to the charming village of Grasmere with its gingerbread shop and 750 year old church of St Oswald.
For those with more than a passing interest in the Lake Districts’ most famous poet we recommend a visit to William Wordsworths house at Dove Cottage. This is the only tour that allows time for visiting inside Dove Cottage.
We cross the pass at Dunmail Raise to enter the northern Lake District wherethere are more fantastic photo opportunities at Ashness Bridge and Surprise View plus time in the pretty market town of Keswick where we take lunch.
Before returning we visit the Neolithic stone circle at Castlerigg (our own mini Stone Henge) and arrive back in time to explore Bowness or take a cruise on Lake Windermere – a great way to end a memorable day out!

I took Tour D with Tony on 14 May 09, and had a wonderful time. Tony was a wonderful guide and a lot of fun. I plan on returning to the UK in a year or two, and will spend 2-3 days in the Lake District next time and most certainly will use your tour company again. I will also recommend you to anyone I know planning on going to the Lake District.
Regards,
Gail Ballard
