Lake District Family Tours

Touring with kids in the Lake District

Travelling with young children can be great fun but demands a slower pace of travel. If you are bringing your kids to the Lake District then we can design a tour at a pace to suit your family with the flexibility to change plans as the day progresses.

Tours can include as many or as little extra activities as your budget and time allows. Free activities popular with children are exploring nature on short walks to places of interest with plenty of opportunity to run around and experience the freedom of the great outdoors in a safe environment - this could include visits to waterfalls, feeding the ducks by the lake and simply having fun outside.

Enjoy nature in a fun way Swing by the river
Ice cream farm - a firm favourite Try something different! Take a steam train
Say hi to the young guys! Visit the lambing sheds Explore the magical woodland

Popular paid activities include a ride on Laal Ratty steam train and a visit to Muncaster Castle. Muncaster has lots of garden space, playground, a maze and bird of prey display making it a wonderful family destination.

For the more adventurous perhaps a tour down a slate mine, a treetop trek or pony trekking.

You can bring a picnic lunch,(we know the best places to stop!), visit a local tea room or at Buttermere visit the ice cream farm - a firm favourite!

We can provide child car seats subject to availability and it is a condition that children use these seats at all times whilst in the vehicle.

Price from £375 for up to 3 persons and £450 for the day for 4 to 8 persons - this tour is not bookable online but is tailored to meet the needs of your family.

Please contact us to discuss how we can help you and your family to have a great day out in the Lake District

Testimonials

Lake District Tours start with an unfair advantage. The Lake District is one of the most sublimely beautiful places I’ve seen.

Their service is attuned to the scenery. Rather than travelling in big impersonal coaches, it’s as if you’re being driven around by friends who’ve been looking forward to your visit so they can show you, and share with you, the special places they’ve come to love.

After five memorable and varied weeks overseas, we’re telling family and friends how the Lake District tour was the highlight.

Thanks again – Don & Judy Lipscombe

Lake District Tours Excellent service

Hi Andy,

Thank you very much for the great day out!!

Lake District is an amazing place, and am sure we will be returning there at some point :-)

The tour was well organised....and your extra service of finding way with the delayed train especially appreciated.

Thank you once again!
